Claudia Rickard is bringing her Bunny Talk Process™ Practitioner Training to Leeds for a two-day, in-person course.
The Bunny Talk Process™ began as a simple way of helping children communicate difficult emotions and has developed into a trauma-aware, content-free approach that can be adapted for work with children, teenagers, adults and families.
What does the training cover?
The course introduces a practical framework for helping clients explore emotions without requiring them to repeatedly retell or relive difficult experiences.
Topics include:
- Emotional awareness and body mapping
- Emotional Intelligence tools for parents and teenagers
- Anchoring and positive state work
- Bunny Eye Movements™
- Using Subjective Units of Disturbance (SUDs) to monitor change
- Creative use of toys, objects and other resources
- Working in a content-free way
- Guided visualisation and hypnosis
- Recognising behaviour as communication
- Helping clients take greater ownership of their own change
There is also an emphasis on working with parents first where appropriate, helping them better understand the emotions and needs that may sit underneath a child’s behaviour.
The training is practical, with demonstrations and opportunities to practise the techniques rather than simply learning about them in theory.

A little more about the Bunny Talk approach
One of the underlying ideas within Bunny Talk is that behaviour can be a form of communication.
Rather than focusing only on changing the behaviour itself, the process encourages practitioners to become curious about what may be happening underneath it: what the person is feeling, where they experience that feeling, and what they may need in order to move towards a different response.
This can be particularly useful where clients struggle to put difficult experiences into words, or where repeatedly discussing the details of an event may not be helpful.
